Bit Torrent - The new world of file sharing

You have certainly heard about file sharing and file sharing programs like Morphues, Limewire, Kazaa and ofcourse the gigantic ODC (ODC++, DC etc). These programs work in different ways for example Kazaa is a peer-2-peer program  (with actually no server) which connects users to each other and let them share files. Similarly ODC and many others but the common thing about them is: Upload and Download!

Nothing new eh? Well, read further.

Bit Torrent - What is it?

A new way to share your files online without having a real desktop program (like Kazaa) is gaining more and more ground among users and that is BIT TORRENT. Yeah BIT TORRENT!.

Now what makes it different from other file sharing programs and why you should use it. Well the first thing is that it is new and it is always cool to test new stuff, right?

The other thing is that Bit Torrent is wide and huge and is a combination of ODC and Kazaa. It has different Torrents about different stuff like Indian movie Torrents, Software Torrents and Torrents where you can search and download both movies, progams, videos, documents and much more.

The smartest thing about Bit Torrent is its fast downloading speed. Files are shared and downloaded in totally different way. For example:

In Kazaa a file may be downloaded by several users at the same time which decreases the speed of the download enormously. If 8 users download a file at the same time, the download speed is divided among all 8 users making it very slow and unstable to download the file.

In Bit Torrent it is quite the opposite. Users downloading a file from your hard disk also share the same file to other users simultanously who may share the file with further more without actually decreasing the download speed.

In other words; you can download a file from another user even when the user himself is in the process of downloading the file from some other user. This is not similar to Kazaa and other file sharing programs where you can NOT share files which are being downloaded. Smart eh?

Besides it is easy to use, infact very easy. You just have to download a client program and install it. The client program is NOT a desktop program and you don't have to start it to be able to download movies, programs etc. It starts automatically when you click on a link to download and doesn't burden your processor, UNLIKE Kazaa.
